Eclipse!

{me with the book in hand, because I obviously can't have to movie in my hand yet}

Last Tuesday I saw Eclipse with a couple of my best girls Stacey and Erna. We were able to see the movie at 8:30 on Tuesday night... a full 3 1/2 hours before most! I guess we're just cool like that or something. Here are some highlights from the experience:

-In N Out before the movie
-Offering to let Erna smell our food since she is on HCG and her diet currently consists of steak
- Dying over the Eat, Pray, Love and HP7 previews
-Taylor Lautner. Yum. Since he is legal I guess I can say that without being too creepy.
-Bella saying "Change me" to Edward and Stacey immediately thinking of Bella asking Edward to change her diaper.
-Erna reminding me of how I used to picture Jacob  as Sanjaya from American Idol before there was any movie casting. True story.
Hilariously ridiculous, I know.

It's not like I have the hots for Sanjaya or anything, but for some reason he is who I pictured when imagining Jacob Black.
My thoughts have been appropriately adjusted:
{Hello Jacob. I see that you've been working out}

Now I cannot wait until Breaking Dawn and being able to see the creepiness that will be Renesmee! Yay Twilight!

Back from the dead.

Remember when I posted about my new best friend, Kindle? Did I tell you about it's premature death? If not, here's the story:

Picture this- April 2010. 4 hour airplane ride form SLC to Orlando. 10 days of vacation and relaxation. Tons of reading to be done. Husband spent literally hours scouring Orem retailers to find some type of protective case for the Kindle before we left, although there were none to be found. Boo. Imagine our sadness when we took the Kindle out of Ben's backpack once were were in the air and saw this:

Boo! Boo! My frusturation definitely conjured images of the "Boo! Boo! lady from The Princess Bride."

Anyway, once we were in Florida Ben called Amazon, explained the situation, and they said that they would send a new Kindle right over for no charge.... wait! At the last minute the Amazon rep asked us if he had a warrantee. Ben said that he didn't know... worker checked on it.... wouldn't you know it- no warrantee, which means replacement Kindle was no longer free. Our "free" replacement Kindle would actually cost us $139 due to our lack of warrantee.

Boo!

Anyway, nearly three months went by. We were missing our Kindle, but we were not excited to shell out $139 for a new Kindle. Finally a few weeks ago we decided that we were willing to  bite the bullet and get a new Kindle. Imagine our surprise when Ben called Amazon and the customer service rep was more than willing to send us a new Kindle for free, and didn't say a word about us having to pay a dime. Score! And we were not about to ask her if she was sure that it was supposed to be free, as the other rep said that we would have to pay $139. Hmmm, is that a sin of omission? Not sure. I'm just happy that I didn't have to pay.

Here is a picture of my loveley new Kindle:
Beautiful, right?

And smart too! It even knows that it's my second Kindle, see?
I'm a happy girl!

Friends, do you have any must-reads to suggest? I'm now in the market to read some new books!
ps- just finished "Water for Elephants" and loved it. Also just finished "The Heart of the Matter." Very frusturating, couldn't relate with the characters, didn't love it.

Wyoming wedding.

This weekend Ben, Dylan, and I headed to Wyoming for Ben's mom's wedding. She married Glenn, her high school sweetheart. It was a 6 hour drive to Laramie and we were a little worried about how Dylan would do on such a long drive, but he was great! Here are a few pictures from the weekend:

Another thing.... has anyone heard of "The Game of Things?" Ben and I played it with his siblings and cousins after all the wedding festivities finished up... it was so much fun! You bet that I'll be picking this game up for myself in the near future!

The $5 rule

A few months ago I read this post on one of the blogs that I regularly visit. The blogger talks about how she is working to start a savings account for her baby without actually going to the bank and open up an account.

To get the account going, she and her husband are living by the $5 rule, meaning that whenever she or her hubby gets a $5 bill it goes into her baby's at home savings account.

Ben and I (well, mostly me with a little Ben) have implemented this into our home too... whenever I have a five, I put it in Dylan's little red piggy bank. It's amazing how his little savings account has grown over the past few months... every week we add another couple of fives and it just keeps growing and growing.

Eventually we will head to the bank and open an account for Dylan... since there will likely be college, a mission, and a wedding to pay for. Until then, little red pig gets fatter and fatter each week.

8 months.

Dylan turned 8 months old last week, despite me requesting that he stay at 7 months. My boy is growing up way more quickly than I would like. Here are a few things about Dylan at 8 months:

-The first tooth just came in! The teething process has been a little rough on him, but thank goodness for teething tablets.
-Crawling like a speed demon. The boy is seriously fast.And he won't stay stationary unless he's asleep.
- Pulling up on everything and cruises from one piece of furniture to another.
-Has an increasing number of sounds, curently including ga, ma, da, na, and ya.
- Loooooves to hear his voice. Screaming, sqealing, babbling... he does it all the time. Especially in church.
- Facinated with the cats and their food. He is continually getting into the cat's food and trying to shove two fistfuls of it into his mouth- yuck!
- Still takes 3 naps for one hour each for the most part, although he occasionally surprises us with a 3 hour nap out of the blue.
-Loves any food that you'll give him. He's become such a beggar when me or Ben is eating... he thinks that he should get a taste of everything.
-Gets a kick out of being pulled around the house in his "wagon." {empty diaper box with flaps cut off, string attached to the front}
-Refused to stay put for our 8 month picture. He was determined to crawl away after being seated for more than a second. Crazy boy!

This one takes the cake.

Thanks to work pals Allison and Jorden, I have fallen in love with yet a new cupcake cafe in town- The Cocoa Bean. I've tried quite a few cupcake/dessert cafes, and I can easily say that the Cocoa Bean is by far the best. They have 8 cupcake flavors each day, and the flavors change daily. Here's their flavor chart:
Serious deliciousness, I'm telling you.

No joke, I have a mini flavor chart on my fridge and I check it every day to see if I absolutely have to visit the Cocoa Bean to try a new flavor... my current favorites are Luscious Lemon Blueberry and Ultimate Brownie.

Hello, I am a cupcake addict.... it's been two days since my last cupcake.... seriously, this place is that good!
