Breathing. Into. A. Paper. Bag.

I went to the doctor this morning and received a little update on my pregnancy.... a change in my due date.

My new due date is September 28th, not October 4th!

Apparently I am 36 weeks along, not 35. Which also means that I only have 4 weeks to mentally prepare for baby Dylan, not 5.

This is too much for me to handle.

Maybe he'll be really late and arrive on October 4th anyway. I think that I'm the only girl out there hoping that her baby will be a few days late.

35 weeks.

It's been a long while since I posted a pregnancy picture. This is not one of my best looks, but it definitely showcases the enormousness that is my stomach. I don't know what I'm going to do for the next 5 weeks- life is not getting any more comfortable! Thank goodness that summer is wrapping up and we are (hopefully) finished with temperatures in the 100's.

Hello, my new love.

After growing tired of my less-than-fabulous hair straightener, I finally bit the bullet and purchased a CHI flat iron. OH MY. I am in love. Seriously, this flat iron is absolutely spectacular. It straightens, flips, and curls and works at least 10 times better than my old Conair piece of junk. Yes, it was a little painful actually buying the CHI, (because they're not cheap), but after a month of good hair days I feel that it was definitely worth the money.

Any other CHI lovers out there?

Randoms,

-We finally saw "The Time Traveler's Wife" on Friday afternoon. Loved it. Made me cry. Ben said that I just wanted to see Eric Bana's bum, but I promise that I definitely had more reasons to see the movie than just that :)

-My feet have reached elephant-like size. They seem to be constantly swollen, despite my efforts to minimize the damage. Cankles have also appeared on three (!) separate occasions. Blast!

- Ben and I started childbirth classes last week. Other than the class being insanely long (2 1/2 hours is a long time to sit!), the class was nice and informative. My personal favorite bit was Ben's reaction to seeing the birth video. Poor guy was traumatized and speechless for at least 10 minutes after the video.

-I've noticed that on my list of blog viewers, I have a regular visitor from Wasilla, Alaska. Since the only person I know from Wasilla is Sarah Palin, I can only assume that it is her visiting my blog. Or possibly her daughter Bristol. To that I say welcome and feel free to do a guest blog post any time.

Jailcat.

Little Moo seems to believe that the baby's crib belongs to him... he is sorely mistaken.

FYI, I'm being slightly obsessive about that cats knowing that baby things are not for them. I've heard about the dangers about cats jumping into babies cribs, suffocating them, etc. Believe me. I don't need the warnings, thank you.

.

Last night, Stacey, Melissa, and my sil Ashley went to Y Mountain to show our support for Nie Nie, as she was hiking the Y on the one year anniversary of the plane accident and had invited anyone to come.

I didn't hike the Y, as being 8 months pregnant makes things like basic movement a little tough. We waited at the bottom of the trailhead to meet her once she came down.

It was so neat to see everyone who is so often featured on her blog in person- the kids, Jimmy the dog, and of course Mr. Nielson and Nie.

I must say, Nie Nie is fabulous. She took time to give hugs to eveyone in attendance, as well as talk to each person. She was so warm and kind that it's no wonder that so many people love her- what's not to love?

If you have somehow been under a rock for the past year and don't know Nie Nie, click here. She's fabulous.

Oh, honesty.

Last night around 10:45, Ben and I were lying in bed, about to fall asleep. We had just finished our bedtime ritual of washing, brushing, moisturizing (me, not him), and reading. We then said our prayers, turned off our bedside lamps, and kissed goodnight.

About a minute of silence went by.

I then heard the barely audible whisper of my husband who said, "You wear too much perfume."

I didn't know whether I should laugh or cry at this random bit of honesty. I chose to laugh... and then made a point to wear less perfume today.

Midwest Shower Weekend.

Two weeks ago, I flew to Indiana for a weekend of showers. The weekend was very, very busy, but it was absolutely wonderful to see so many loved ones! First, there was a shower in St. Louis, which my Aunt Karen hosted. I saw so many relatives- some I don't think I've seen since my bridal shower 5 years ago!

Please take note of the cupcakes. Not gonna lie, these were the best cupcakes I've had in my life. Better than Sweet Tooth Fairy, better than anything. Way to go Aunt Sally- these were divine. I may have had 3 over the course of the weekend.

Please take note of my gorgeous and skinny relatives. I currently resent them for their size 4-ness.

The next day, we drove back to Columbus for another shower. Again, it was wonderful and fun. Thank you Sarah for planning a great night! I was so excited to see two of my oldest friends, Carol and Lindsey. I love these girls dearly and am so happy that we became friends 14 years ago!

Ben is so proud

It's official, Baby Harris loooooves Bob Marley. Ben and I love putting headphones on my stomach and playing music for the baby, and it is apparent that Bob Marley is the clear favorite. There's always a little baby movement when we put music on, but as soon as a Bob Marley song comes on, the baby goes crazy! Ben loves this, since he's a big fan of Bob Marley. I like his music, but only in small quantities. Seems like Baby Harris has inheirited Ben's music tastes over mine. Then again, I don't think that we've played any Britney for him yet...
