Staying sane on a Sunday.

What should you do on a Sunday evening when your two year old is getting antsy and it's too cold and dark to go outside? Consult Pinterest for fun toddler activities, of course. I found a great pin called "25 Things to do with a Wiggly Toddler Boy (Other than get frustrated)"  and found something that I knew Dylan would love- Fill up the sink with soapy water, give him measuring cups, and let him go at it. This activity was an absolute smash for Dylan- he was happy as a clam for an hour! Here is some documentation:

This is going to be a favorite go-to activity when we're cooped up in the house for awhile. It's free, the only mess is wiping up a little water, and it brings my kid absolute joy. I'll take it!
ps- pay no mind to my mix of Thanksgiving and Christmas decor. As soon as I get a new printer cartridge I'm swapping out my Thanksgiving art for Christmas art :)

I wasn't noticing your mixed decor...rather, your spotless kitchen. Every time Payton is helping me at the sink, it is because I need to get the dishes done...it's just like you to always have yours done. Brat.

This looked like so much fun, so we decided to do it too. We've been struggling coming up with activities for Josie (now that it's cold outside). She had a blast and was totally in heaven - until I walked away and she slipped and fell of the chair and hit her head on the floor. No bruises or broken bones - she was just a little scared. Sometimes I think I'm the worst mom - I try to do something fun and it ends badly. Next time I'll have to be a little more careful. :-) Thanks for the great idea, though.
