Sneaky or just smart?

To continue where I left off on my last blog (it was such a cliffhanger, right?), I did end up getting my new Hobby Lobby items into my house without any bloodshed. How, you ask? Very simple. In order to neutralize a husband's negative reaction from discovering a purchase he sees as pointless or ridiculous, he must be distracted. In his instance I distracted Ben with a golf trinket purchased at the one and only Hobby Lobby. I also included a golf coupon for good measure. Ben was so excited to get a present that he did not seem to mind that I got a few goodies for the house (by that I mean myself). Crisis averted!
My more aesthetically pleasing mantle.

Random wall hanging. When Ben saw it he said, "Why do we have a crown? We're not British." What does being British have to do with anything?

The neutralizing golf trinket and its accompanying coupon.

Very smart to give him the golf thing. If I did that, Mike wouldn't care either!

you are one funny gal. T does the same thing though, when he buys something expensive for himself he has learned to offset it with a gift for me. and i usually fall for it too. jerk.
but when i move and buy a house i will expect you to take a trip to help me decorate!

Very creative wife...your mom did teach you a few special tricks, huh? Or did you learn these "under-handed tactics by yourself? :) A girl after my own heart.

Both, sneaky and smart. :) You're totally funny, Chrissi! I'm going to have to take lessons from you. I'm still working on how to make my husband think certain ideas were his that were really mine... yeah.

You are the funniest girl. Do you know how many times I have gone on a shopping spree and been so happy at all my wonderful finds I forgot about the rath that I would face when my dear husband would return home from work? I have a problem with spending too much money and he has a problem seeing my need for a cute house. That is how I look at it. I doubt we have a Hobby Lobby out here in the east so I am probably safe from that one, but I will keep my eye out for one. Now if there just wasn't a Target on every corner Todd would be a lot happier.
